HHere are the entry requirements for major business centers in East Asia, according to the State Department. Even with the new quarantine waiver granted to business travelers, athletes and journalists, they still have to contend with strict rules elsewhere.

Hong Kong

Passengers arriving in Hong Kong on flights from overseas countries / territories, who are not residents of Hong Kong, will be prohibited from entering Hong Kong.

All travelers entering Hong Kong, including Hong Kong residents, will have to undergo a mandatory medical test for coronavirus upon arrival and need to undergo a mandatory 14-day quarantine. The arrivals may be placed in the quarantine center of the Hong Kong government.

Singapore

Aside from Singapore citizens and permanent residents of Singapore who obtain permission to enter Singapore from the United Kingdom (and from most other countries), they must obtain a negative Covid-19 test (PCR test) within 72 hours of travel. A 14-Day Home Stay Notice (SHN) of mandatory quarantine will be issued upon arrival.

Japan

Non-Japanese citizens wishing to visit for short-term business purposes are also allowed entry, provided they have an entry visa. However, the number of people allowed to enter Japan will be restricted under these rules, with priority given to those who move to Japan.

Non-Japanese citizens arriving will need to provide written evidence of a negative Covid-19 test result taken within 72 hours of the flight departure time if they have visited the UK in the last 14 days. You will also need to provide written confirmation from your company or sponsor that quarantine procedures will be followed upon arrival.

All passengers arriving in Japan are required to isolate themselves for 14 days upon arrival at a specific location (such as a hotel or your home) and avoid using public transportation, including when leaving the airport.

South Korea

All short-term foreign travelers must be quarantined in a facility designated by the government for a period of 14 days upon arrival. Arrivals from the USA and Europe will be tested upon entry before being transferred to the quarantine facility; The arrivals will move from another place to the quarantine facility and be tested within 14 days.

Individuals are required to pay a daily fee of around 100,000 won (around £ 66) while in government quarantine facilities.
