LOS ANGELES, December 12 – Harrison Ford may have pushed 80, but he’s not too old to wear a wide-brimmed Fedora for the Indiana Jones adventure in one final movie.
Disney’s announcement of a fifth and final indie flick in 2022 – which has been in development for years – sent fans into a festive frenzy on social media yesterday.
“We are in pre-production in the next and final batch of Indiana JonesKathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm, said Thursday at Disney’s mega-show on Investor Day.
“Of course, Andy himself, Harrison Ford, will return to conclude the journey of this iconic character. Andy will start filming in late spring of 2021, and it will be released in July of 2022.”
Heading will be James Mangold, director of Flick Racing Ford vs Ferrari And the Logan, The final chapter in a long string of wolverine flicks starring Hugh Jackman.
Steven Spielberg, who directed the first four flicks from Indy, was initially set to direct the final chapter in IAnd Jones Instead, it turned over to Mangold.
Spielberg would still be co-producer.
