Lizzo Determined to continue spreading the message of self-love after realizing that she has become a beacon of hope for girls and women just like her.
The “Good as Hell” singer recently signed up to speak at Vogue’s Forces of Fashion in November, telling the magazine that she will always serve as a role model thanks to the fans who thanked her for voicing her opinion and being real.
“I think it’s important for me to take full responsibility for the way the world looks at me because that’s how they will see someone who looks like me in the future,” Lizzo explained.
“Maybe, hopefully, that would give some little girl somebody to look up to and take away the opportunity for someone to use her uniqueness as a weapon against her. I had to travel around the world and had to meet people and read DMs and look into their eyes and really hear their stories To believe that I was making a positive impact. Now that I believe in myself that way, I will continue to push that conversation just by being my best day. ”
The hip-hop star is determined to be more than just a “body positive” symbol, adding, “I think it’s lazy for me to say I’m body positive at this point. It’s easy. I’d like to be a body modulator.”
“I want to normalize my body. And not just,” Oh, look at this cool movement. Being fat is a positive thing for the body. No, being fat is normal. I guess now, I owe it to the people who started this so we don’t just stop here. We have to make people uncomfortable again, so we can continue to change. Change is always uncomfortable, isn’t it? ”
