Before Floyd’s tragic death, Ludacris she has already worked to help remove racial bias with a new media platform called Kid Nation. Developed with its business partner Sandy Lal, Kid Nation wants to teach children current events, mostly through music.
The duo plan to fully launch the platform in the fall, but have embarked on the release of two new songs related to current events. They collaborated with various groups of children, singing songs while Ludacris created lyrics and melodies.
“This is a whole new, futuristic commitment to children’s entertainment and music,” he says, adding, “I just feel like the landscape is very dated, the best word I could use in terms of what’s for children’s music for a moment. And I mean in general. landscape, we have a lot of adult music that kids love to listen to, but there isn’t enough children’s music that adults also love to listen to. ”
Two songs, “Reconcile,” about racial unity and “Stay Clean,” about hygiene, come at a time when a lot more home education is happening and we need to raise awareness about racial equality, our safety and health to be children, Ludacris says.
“We strive to ensure the future of children everywhere – of all different races and nationalities – because we believe that love is the answer. It will always be love. Love trumpets hatred,” he adds.
Before writing the songs, Ludacris talked to groups of children “trying to hear their voice and translate that voice,” adults. He took care and created lyrics and melodies that convey children’s innocence. “It’s kind of like the basic message of what this whole platform is going to be about reminding people of that purity,” he says. “And once they remind you of that purity, it can erase and eradicate many of the hatreds in people’s heads.”
“I wish I could change the world between you and me / I would like to make the whole world colorful,” read the lyrics to the song “Get Down”.
The next one will be published “Stay Clean”, which, says Ludacris, has a humorous hook that repeats: “wash your hands, wash your hands immediately after brushing / brushing your teeth immediately after eating.”
“You’d be amazed at the impact these songs have,” he says.
