Florida reported 107 new COVID-19 related deaths, and 2,795 new cases

Orlando, Florida. – The Florida Department of Health announced 2,795 new cases of coronavirus in the state as of Saturday. The new respiratory disease cases bring the state’s total to 698,682 since the epidemic was first discovered in Florida in March.

On Saturday, the Florida Department of Health reported 107 new deaths.

The number of COVID-19 deaths in Florida now stands at 14,190, including the 168 non-residents who have died in the state.

Data from deaths related to COVID-19 is often delayed and new deaths may take up to two weeks to report, according to health officials.

According to th Healthcare Administration AgencyAs of Friday morning, there were a total of 2,115 hospitalized patients statewide with COVID-19.

The Health Department reported 170 new patients in the hospital on Saturday, bringing the total in the state to 43,469 people who had been in the hospital at some point during the past six months due to the virus.

The state’s overall positive rate for all tests stood at 13.35% on Friday. Health officials believe the daily rate should be less than 10% to reduce local precautions to help stop the spread of the virus. The World Health Organization is advising societies that they can reopen when they can keep their overall positivity rate at 5% or less.
