Six patients died as a result of the Covid-19 outbreak in the hospital’s male medical ward

A sixth patient from Daisy Hill Hospital in Newry died after testing positive for Covid-19.

Thirteen patients associated with the male medical ward at Down County Hospital have tested positive for the virus.

28 staff members from the ward have tested positive for coronavirus, and 28 crew members have undergone self-isolation.

A total of 341 employees have been tested, as confirmed by the Southern Health Fund.

A spokesperson for the trust expressed his “deep sorrow” for the family of the deceased patient.

The spokesman said: “We can confirm that an independent review of serious adverse incidents is currently underway and all deaths will be included as part of this process.”

14 patients tested positive for Covid-19 at Craigapon Hospital

Six people have died As a result of the Coronavirus outbreak at the Craigapon Hematology ward in Armagh County.

Confidence confirmed that 23 Craigapon Hospital employees tested positive for the coronavirus – 45 employees self-isolated and 24 of them have since returned to work.
