Brother of former WWE superstar Ashley Massaro dies after knife attack

Ronnie Masaru died after a stabbing incident in New York City, Fox News can confirm this.

NYPD confirmed Tuesday that the 39-year-old brother of late WWE superstar Ashley Massaro was stabbed outside an establishment on West 38th Street and Eighth Street on Saturday November 21 at around 9:15 PM EST.

When the officers arrived at the scene, the victim was “unconscious, unresponsive, with stab wounds in his torso.”

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to the scene and Masaru was taken to Bellevue Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 9:40 PM EST.

On Sunday, November 22, a 52-year-old was arrested with a second degree murder.

According to th New York Daily News, Massaro was allegedly fighting alcoholism and entered a rehab program on Long Island. He got off the show just hours before he was killed, according to childhood friend Keith Hanlon.

“He got out of rehab and got on the train. That was it. He got off the program and on the train, and even after 12 hours, he left,” Hanlon told the port.

Hanlon described: “He was ready to live life. Since his sister’s death, I have never noticed that he possesses that voice. Something has hit him. I really think he has begun to accept things and understand what life is.” “It finally hits me, and I’m ready. I can do it. We can do it together.” Those were exactly his words. I lost it in the Midtown Tunnel. His last words were, “I’m about to hit the Midtown Tunnel, I’ll call you.”

Ashley passed away in May 2019. She was 39 years old and survived her daughter.

“We are saddened to learn of the tragic death of former WWE Superstar Ashley Masaru.” WWE said in a statement in time.

“She sang in WWE from 2005 to 2008 and was loved by fellow superstars and fans around the world. WWE extends its condolences to Ashley’s family and friends.”
