Sony reveals the installation size of some PS5 games • Eurogamer.net

Sony has revealed the install size of some of its PlayStation 5 games.

Spider-Man from Insomniac: Miles Morales requires at least 50GB, According to the PlayStation website.

The Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Launch Edition, which includes a modified version of Spider-Man PS4, is more than twice that, It weighs 105 GB minimum.

And the striking souls of Satan It requires a minimum of 66 GB.

(Sony has yet to reveal how big of Destruction Allstars or Sackboy: A Big Adventure has been installed.)

It’s worth noting that the PS5 comes with a dedicated 825GB SSD at launch. This means that Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Launch Edition powers just under 13 percent of the PS5’s SSD.

It’s also worth keeping in mind that the PS5 will allow you to install certain parts of games, while maintaining the overall install footprint. I doubt you’ll need a modified version of Spider-Man PS4 on an SSD if all you want to do is play Spider-Man: Miles Morales, for example.

And of course, you can extend the PS5’s internal storage with a ready-to-use SSD – though expect to poke a hole in your wallet for a device that meets console bandwidth specifications: 5.5 GB / s (Raw) bandwidth read. Here Digital foundryRichard Ledbetter gave advice in March:

“… expandable storage is possible and you won’t need special Sony drives to get the extra space you want. However, in the short term at least, the advice is simple: Don’t buy an NVMe drive without Sony validation if you plan on using it.” Also, remember that high-bandwidth PCIe 4.0 NVMe drives are likely to be expensive – in the short term at least. This is a cutting-edge technology, after all. The outlook should obviously improve significantly as the next generation progresses – and tilts Prices drop significantly over time. “

Although, these don’t look too bad compared to some of the huge mount sizes we’ve seen in this generation (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, I’m looking at you), Obviously if you stick with the PS5’s internal storage, it can fill up quickly.

Here’s a console comparison: The Xbox Series X comes with a dedicated 1 TB NVMe SSD for internal storage, while the Xbox Series S has a dedicated 512GB NVMe SSD.
