NASCAR results in Las Vegas: Kurt Busch sneaks into the next round with a cautious-backed win

Kurt Bush used an unexpected stroke of luck Sunday in Las Vegas to claim the first race of the 12th play-off round for NASCAR.

Late in the final stage, the front of the beam was burned due to a warning amid the Green Flag pit stop, with only Kurt Bush remaining on the track between competitors in the extension. He capitalized on being put on a roll to win in his hometown for the first time in his career.

A victory gives Kurt Bush an automatic advance to the next round.

Emotions ran high during South Point 400, as Joy Lugano’s role in blocking Kyle Bush’s victory last weekend sparked the controversy that spilled over into Sunday’s competition. Lugano banned Chase Elliott in Stage 1 And again car-butting with Kyle Bush.

Kyle Bush finished sixth, while Lugano and Elliott failed to break through the top ten.
