The shooting happened Friday around 1 p.m. at a Texaco store, the Shreveport Police Department said in a statement. Police officers came and found a man with multiple bullet wounds.
The Caddo County Parish Office identified the man as Danzeria O. Farris Jr., 32, of Shreveport. He died of his wounds at a hospital in Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport, police said.
The 31-year-old rapper, whose real name is Christopher J. Dooley, has been identified as a suspect in the shooting. Dooley claimed the shooting was in self-defense after a fight around his vehicle, police said.
“Investigators were able to provide videos of the incident that the detective believes showed that Dooley did not act in self-defense,” the statement said.
Detectives learned that the vehicle in question did not belong to Dooley, but instead was reported stolen from Texas.
