Apple is closing some of the stores that reopened due to the coronavirus case

The company will close 11 stores across Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina and Arizona this weekend, it announced Friday.

“Due to the current COVID-19 conditions in some of the communities we serve, we are temporarily closing stores in this area.” Apple (AAPL) stands in the statement. “We find this step with a lot of caution, as we are closely monitoring the situation and look forward to our teams and customers returning as soon as possible.”
All four states have had large spikes in cases in recent days, and experts say Florida in particular could emerge as a new epicenter.
Apple had previously placed several restrictions and requirements on stores that it reopened, with some offering only the edge along with the lining, while others requiring protective covers and temperature checks.

“These are not decisions we are in a hurry – and opening a store does not in any way mean that we will not take a precautionary step to close it again if local conditions require it,” Deirdre O’Brien, Apple’s senior vice president of retail and people, said in a statement. month.

The company has 510 stores worldwide, of which 271 are in the US.
