All-Armenian Catholicos meets with Pope Francis and discusses military operations of Azerbaijan

His Holiness, Patriarch Karkin II, the Supreme Patriarch and the Catholicos of all Armenians, met today with Pope Francis I, as reported by the head of the Information Center of the Mother Chair Itchimadzin, Rev. Fahram Melikian.

During the meeting, His Holiness Pope Karkin II and Pope Francis I discussed the close relations between the Armenian Apostolic Church and the Roman Catholic Church and the partnership in various sectors.

During the conversation, the two sides specifically touched on the operations launched by Azerbaijan along the line of contact between Karabakh and Azerbaijan that also caused the death of peaceful civilians.

All Armenian Catholics attached importance to the voice and ink of the sister Catholic Church for the end of hostilities and the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

After condemning the Azerbaijani aggression, His Holiness Kariken II affirmed that only with respect for the rights of the people of Artsakh and the proclamation of justice will it be possible to restore peace and stability.

The Pope recited a prayer to restore peace.
