The budget-friendly Spar supermarket chain beats its luxury competitors to become the best Christmas pie this year

The SPAR supermarket chain outperforms its high-end competitors to earn the honor of this year’s best Christmas pie in blind taste tests.

Fancy supermarkets have often experimented with great new ingredients or flavors in an effort to produce the ultimate ground meat pie.

But the best this year was made by … SPAR. The budget series beat its super-competitors to record its first win in the BBC Good Food Blind Taste Tests for Best Festive Show.

Other low-cost grocers have taken home gongs, too. Aldi won Best Christmas Pudding, Asda won Best Cranberry Sauce and Tesco won Best Jamun.
