ULA postpones spy satellite launch for the third time; 2 more launches planned

The United Launch Alliance (ULA) delayed the launch of its Delta IV Heavy NROL-44 mission for the third time in two days.

The space company said that while the missile is ready to launch, they are taking extra precautions to ensure all issues with the swing arm traction system are resolved.

The launch will now take place on Tuesday, September 29th from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. The exact launch date has not been specified.

This is the third time the launch has been postponed, as it was originally scheduled for Sunday, then Monday, and now Tuesday.

Tuesday is the same day that SpaceX plans to launch the fourth generation of the US Air Force’s third-generation navigation satellite for the Global Positioning System. This mission has also been delayed several times since last year.

SpaceX has two launches planned for this next week. FOX 35 has arrived to see if the ULA delay will affect the launch schedule.

Monday, September. 28: The SPACEX STARLINK mission

SpaceX will launch the 13th batch of Starlink satellites aboard a Falcon 9 rocket on Monday. 60 satellites dedicated to SpaceX’s Starlink broadband network. The mission was canceled on September 17 due to weather.

Takeoff time is set at 10:22 a.m. EST from Kennedy Space Center.

Tuesday, September. 29: SPACEX FALCON 9 GPS

SpaceX is hoping to launch the US Air Force’s fourth-generation GPS navigation satellite after the mission has been delayed several times since last year.

The launch has been postponed from September 30th.

Scheduled to take off at 10:10 PM EST from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.
