Starting Thursday, Hy-Vee is offering a new option to take COVID-19 testing. The test takes only minutes and results will be available within one to two hours. The COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test is offered at dozens of Hy-Vee sites across the state. Urbandale Hy-Vee is one of two metro grocery stores to offer the test. The test is taken by driving, but you must log into the Hy-Vee website to obtain a test voucher, test site, and appointment time. Hy-Vee told KCCI that this was something their customers wanted, so they wanted to make it happen. “We’ve also heard from clients that they want to get results in a timely manner, and we didn’t want to wait two or three days for these results like you do on most sites,” said Hy-Vee’s Tina Boothoff. “That is why we decided to cooperate with medical service providers and do so.” The cost of the test can vary by state, but the cost on the metro is about $ 99 and is not covered by insurance.
