Indonesian Lion Air restarts flights, cancels them again
The Lion Air Group, which also includes Batik Air and Wings Air, began slowly reintroducing short-haul flight routes, but the renewed flights did not last long.
The company announced that all routes from June 5 were suspended again due to widespread problems with passengers who do not properly follow the rules related to coronavirus regarding social distancing and health discoveries.
In announcing the decision, Lion Air expressed particular concern for the health of employees, especially cabin crew who are at risk of coronavirus infection from passengers.
“Lion Air Group supports the government in its efforts to prevent the spread of Covid-19, by actively participating in the implementation of health protocols established by the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Health and the working group,” the company said in a statement issued June 3.
For now, there is no word on when these flights will be diverted. Lion Air offers a refund to passengers who have already booked their tickets, but for now does not allow anyone to book new bookings.
