New York (AFP) President Donald Trump’s son Eric is set to speak via video link on Monday with New York State investigators investigating his family’s business practices, according to court documents filed on Friday.
Eric Trump did not give any indication that he would seek to postpone the interview in light of the diagnosis of his father and stepmother with the Corona virus, which was announced early Friday, or for any other reasons. On Friday, a White House doctor said the other first family members had tested positive for the virus.

Last week, a judge gave Eric Trump until October 7 to comply with a subpoena for his testimony in New York Attorney General Letitia James’ investigation into whether the family company, the Trump Organization, lied about the value of its assets in order to obtain loans or tax benefits.
James, a Democrat, went to court to enforce the subpoena after Eric Trump’s attorneys abruptly canceled an interview in July with investigators looking into whether the Trump Organization had lied about the value of its assets in order to obtain loans or tax benefits.
Eric Trump’s attorneys sought to delay his interview with investigators until after the November 3 presidential election, arguing that his “extreme travel schedule” during the campaign warrants the delay.
President Trump’s re-election campaign has canceled upcoming events in which members of the Trump family were scheduled to participate. The president was transferred to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Friday for treatment and is expected to stay there for several days.
The New York investigation is civilian rather than criminal in nature, and investigators have yet to determine whether any law has been violated.
