Ben & Jerry’s tells America to “dismiss the police” in a June 19 special message

The Vermont-based ice cream company posted on its website a detailed overview of what the police defense movement means.

explains racist roots American policing and argues that police rejection “offers the best opportunity for generations to completely transform our model of work and create stronger, safer communities in which black Americans and people of color can finally experience and celebrate true freedom.”

“Stop police” means we stop spending our tax dollars on so many discredited, dangerous and racist sections of the police and instead invest money in community management solutions that promote real health, peacekeeping and security, ”the company says.

Like many companies, Ben & Jerry’s strongly showed support for the Black Lives Matter in the days following the George Floyd tragedy, persuading Americans to “dismantle the supremacy of white” and “tackle the sins of our past”.

But almost none of these companies have publicly expressed support for police defense.

There was no equating in Ben & Jerry’s statement on Friday: “This June, what should be our country’s true Independence Day, is a time to get rid of the dangerous, racist law enforcement model and work on a new vision of building successful communities where all people have what they need to be healthy and safe. “
