And now, Apple’s face mask.

The engineering teams responsible for the iPhones and iPads have designed a special face mask for Apple employees, as I mentioned for the first time Bloomberg, Mark Gorman.

Although pictures of the new mask have yet to be released, a report by Bloomberg says Apple’s engineering and design department has created a mask with a “unique look”, including “large covers for the wearer’s nose and chin” as well as “adjustable chains.” It will have three layers that can be washed up to five times.

Apple told Bloomberg that it designed the mask keeping in mind existing PPE supply chains, while being careful not to disrupt current flows.

To the disappointment of some Apple fans, masks were made for Apple employees in businesses and retail, rather than the general public. The masks will be shipped to the employees within the next two weeks. At the moment, it is not known whether Apple will try to distribute the mask more widely.

Besides the specially designed Apple mask, the company is also introducing a transparent surgical mask for employees, so that the hearing impaired customers can see and understand the faces of the employees more clearly. It’s the first completely clear surgical mask to be approved by the Food and Drug Administration, according to Bloomberg.
