Rochester shooting: Two people were killed and 14 wounded, according to police
Police responded to calls to shoot and found about 100 people running on a street in what Rochester Acting Police Chief Mark Simmons described as “a very messy scene”.
He said, “We were able to see and notice many of the victims who had been shot at that time.”
The police did not release the names of the two victims, but said they were between 18 and 22 years old. Simmons added that there are currently no suspects in custody and it is too early to know how many shooters there are.
“This is a tragedy of truly epic proportions, if you ask me,” said Simmons. Sixteen casualties no one had heard of.
Simmons said the event when the shooting happened was “some kind of backyard party”. The police were not aware of the party and did not take any inconvenience calls. An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
