It is expected to be called the Chicago Bears Mitchell Trubsky A source said to ESPN’s Adam Shifter on Friday as the primary midfielder.

The source told ESPN that Trubisky’s progress, leadership, and overall performance during boot camp are the decision-making factors.

Bears coach Matt Nagy hinted last weekend that he would refrain from choosing between Tropesky and Nick Falls The Bears even opened the regular season on September 13, but backed off on Monday, suggesting instead that they make a decision early next week.

Trubisky and Foles have had a fight to get started during the training camp, with days being rotated evenly over the first team since the start of padded training on August 17th.

In 2018, Nagy’s first season as a coach, the Bears went 12-4 as Tropesky ran 3,223 yards, 24 drops and 12 interceptions and sprinted 421 yards and three touchdowns.

Trubisky, while playing most of last season with a shoulder injury that required surgery in January, ranked 28th in the NFL in total QBR (39.4), tied for 27th on landing passes (17), and 21th in passing yards (3, 138), 32 yards gained per pass attempt (6.1) and 28 in the traditional quarterback rating (83.0) as the Bears finished 8-8.

Chicago knocked out and traded for Foles – Super Bowl LII’s best player – at the start of the new league year. The Bears subsequently rejected Tropesky’s fifth-year option and announced the bootcamp open quarterback competition.
