Insurance : Ternian® Launches a New "Mid-Level" Medical Plan for Struggling Employers
on 2010/9/8 9:00:00 (89 reads)
Insurance

(Prudent Press Agency) --- Ternian Insurance Group LLC., a Phoenix based insurance program manager and administrator, has developed and launched a new medical insurance plan called, HealthValu®. HealthValu is designed to provide a "mid-level" of medical insurance protection for employer groups that cannot afford or cannot qualify for traditional, comprehensive health insurance.

According to Ben Rozum, president of Ternian, "HealthValu provides an accessible and affordable alternative for employers. Coverage levels and pricing are designed to fall somewhere in between a mini-med and comprehensive health plan." Ternian believes that HealthValu can help brokers and employers with real challenges they face in the group health insurance marketplace today. For example, employers may find themselves in the difficult position of having to cancel a group plan, some are being canceled by carriers because of unmet requirements, and some just can't qualify due to pre-existing conditions. Ternian offers an alternative solution for these challenges with their HealthValu plan.

Insurance : AccuQuote Recognizes Life Insurance Awareness Month
on 2010/9/1 9:00:00 (146 reads)
Insurance

(Prudent Press Agency) --- AccuQuote, a leader in providing term life insurance quotes to people across the United States, recognizes life insurance awareness month. The multi-carrier life insurance quoting and brokerage firm encourages consumers to use the month of September as an opportunity to review their life insurance needs.

“Let’s face it, our financial security isn’t what it used to be,” says Byron Udell, founder and CEO of AccuQuote. “Many of our homes have decreased in value, and with it have decreased or wiped out any equity we may have had. Our investments are worth less than they were just a couple of years ago, and we’re earning a fraction of a percent of interest in our savings.” Even through an economic downturn, there is one source of financial security that still stands strong – life insurance. Life insurance serves as the foundation of a family’s overall financial security. If consumers do not already have life insurance, September is the perfect time of year to obtain coverage. Currently, term life insurance rates are near record lows. For instance, a healthy 40 year old male can obtain a $500,000 policy for less than $35 a month.

Insurance : Number of Consumers Going Online for Auto Insurance Increases Steadily
on 2010/8/31 7:00:00 (135 reads)
Insurance

(Prudent Press Agency) --- Consumers have been taking advantage of the Internet's ever-growing wealth of resources for both researching and purchasing products, and an increasing proportion of the buying public is turning to the Web to make complicated investments such as auto insurance. A report released earlier this year by Internet marketing research company comScore indicated that, between 2006 and 2009, the number of consumers that turned to the Web to purchase coverage increased by about 80 percent. According to the research company, that means 2.8 million shoppers decided to purchase coverage over the Internet last year.

With sites like OnlineAutoInsurance.com making it more convenient to buy car insurance online, it's easy to see why consumers are choosing this option. Such sites enable shoppers to get a variety of quotes in a single location through the free use of quote-comparison generators. The tool require shoppers to enter a limited set of data that insurance companies would use to determine a customer's rate, such as vehicle type, average miles driven and principal reasons for use of the vehicle. Once this information is processed, the quote generator will give the consumer a side-by-side comparison of premium estimates from a range of reliable carriers, and the buyer can make his or her decision after getting more information about the carriers and coverage being offered.

Insurance : Insurance Navy Starts a New Venture for Low Cost SR22 in Maywood, IL
on 2010/8/12 16:00:00 (112 reads)
Insurance

(Prudent Press Agency) --- Insurance Navy, a premier independent auto insurance agents company specializing in standard and non standard insurance markets announced that it has opened its 8th branch in the Chicago metro area. The new branch, located in Maywood, Illinois, will focus providing low cost SR22 (SR-22), non-owner insurance, and affordable auto insurance. The branch will be servicing other surrounding suburbs suck as River Forest, Bellwood, Broadview, Hines, Forest Park, Elmwood Park, and Oak Park, Illinois.

"In the first day of operations the Agency managed to provide quotes to dozens of clients. A total of five clients were sold immediate SR-22," Fadi Abuisneineh, the Office Manager, stated in an interview yesterday. "The Agency is expected to achieve tremendous success at that location," Fadi said. There is extensive competition in the surrounding suburbs for cheap auto insurance and SR22 products, but Maywood has few independent agents. Most captive agents working for standard companies such as State Farm, Allstate, Farmers, or American Family either do not offer SR22 or their premium is not low.

Insurance : Study Supports New Rules for Group With Costly Auto Insurance: Younger Drivers
on 2010/8/10 7:00:00 (139 reads)
Insurance

(Prudent Press Agency) --- A study released last week by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) is fueling the push to pass federal legislation that would establish a standardized set of minimum licensing requirements for drivers nationwide. The study, which is discussed in the most recent edition of the IIHS's Status Report, indicates that the majority of parents of 15- to 18-year-olds support licensing requirements that are as tough or tougher than those in place anywhere in the United States. The legislation, which is known as the STANDUP Act and was introduced in the Senate earlier this year, would establish national standards aimed at curbing the accident rate of the group of drivers considered to be of very high risk by the majority of auto insurance companies: young drivers.

Any consumer that has tried to find cheap insurance for young drivers knows that this can prove to be quite a feat. That is because insurance companies recognize that members of this demographic -- especially teenagers -- have less experience on the road and a higher likelihood of being involved in auto accidents, and the insurers respond to that heightened risk with larger premiums. Teenage drivers, mile-for-mile, become involved in three times as many fatal accidents as all other drivers, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Insurance : Independent Insurance Adjusting Firm CatManDo Completes Important Disaster Recovery Simulation Assures Data Integrity and Up-Time for Insurance Clients
on 2010/8/8 9:00:00 (168 reads)
Insurance

(Prudent Press Agency) --- As an independent property insurance adjusting company and Third Party Administrator (TPA) that services insurance carriers and their policyholders, one can understand why it is so critical that the Florida based CatManDo, Inc. maintain its operations when others are losing theirs. That is why it was so important that the firm successfully completed a full systems recovery based on a simulated catastrophic loss of all data and voice resources to its Tampa headquarters office. The test demonstrated the ability for CatManDo to bring all servers, workstations, and voice and data access back online in less than 48 hours using generator power, satellite links, and a 48 seat mobile office for its workers in the event of a catastrophic event. This demonstrated CatManDo’s commitment to being there with mission critical information when it counts most for its clients and their policyholders.

Using the Atlanta-based test labs of Agility Recovery Solutions with whom CatManDo has been a member since 2006, management and technical staff from CatManDo successfully established a complete infrastructure and working environment that mirrored its operations. This included all of its servers and server applications, custom configured workstations with all necessary applications, a full working phone system with recognition of all incoming client lines that allow proper answering protocols to be followed, and the provision of other necessary office machines and resources. In fact, all data from servers and network drives was recovered in less than 8 hours and full operations could have been launched from the Agility test labs.

Insurance : MiniCo Offers Deductible Waiver Option for Self-Storage Insureds
on 2010/7/26 11:00:00 (115 reads)
Insurance

(Prudent Press Agency) --- MiniCo Insurance Agency, LLC, is now offering a deductible waiver option designed to help relieve some of the financial burden on self-storage insureds in the event of a loss caused by hail or wind which causes cosmetic damage to roof coverings. Currently available in Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas, the option permits the waiver of the named insured’s applicable wind and hail property deductible when the named insured and the company mutually agree to choose elastomeric roof coating in place of roof replacement to repair cosmetic damage to roof coverings caused by wind or hail.

Elastomeric roof coating may be a more viable solution in situations where the damage caused by hail does not compromise the structural integrity or functionality of the roofing. Full-scale roof repair and replacement in most cases will require self-storage tenants to be relocated and prevent units from being rented for an extended period of time. MiniCo’s deductible waiver provides an option to avoid these types of disruption while reducing costs for both the insured and the insurance carrier.

Insurance : City Solicitor Backs Claim That Insurers Are Bullying Accident Victims by: Paul Rooney Solicitors
on 2010/7/14 11:40:00 (102 reads)
Insurance

(Prudent Press Agency) --- Leading Liverpool solicitors Paul Rooney Partnership are backing claims made by the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) that insurance companies in the UK are bullying road traffic accident victims into accepting lower levels of compensation than they could expect if they issued legal proceedings. The claim was made at the recent APIL annual dinner where its president blamed "weak financial regulation of certain insurance activities" for the behaviour of insurance companies that pressurise accident victims into settling claims prior to seeking any legal advice.

“This is a huge problem.” Says solicitor Simon Shaw from the Paul Rooney Partnership. “On a daily basis we hear from our new clients that they have already been approached by insurance companies employing hard-sell tactics to dissuade them from seeking legal advice.

Insurance : Lady Gaga has a 'Bad Romance' with her Insurance Company
on 2010/7/11 10:40:00 (120 reads)
Insurance

(Prudent Press Agency) --- It appears that pants aren't the only coverage Lady Gaga is lacking. The famously under-dressed pop star made headlines today when, according to TMZ.com, Navigators Specialty Insurance Company denied the singer's claim to help fight a $30 million breach of contract suit with her former producer/ex-boyfriend Rob Fusari. While not entirely uncommon, the large numbers involved illustrate why it's vital for artists to thoroughly review all insurance policies with their management, explains Los Angeles insurance expert Timothy Gaspar.

"Artists are constantly at risk of lawsuits from the people around them," says Timothy Gaspar, owner of Gaspar Insurance Services in Los Angeles. "Contract disputes, ownership of songs or images, even a stage name or character can become a contentious issue and these types of suits can rack up huge legal fees over time."

Insurance : NewRiver, SEC and Leading Insurance Providers To Discuss the Impact and Opportunities of the New Summary Prospectus and E-delivery
on 2010/7/7 11:20:00 (93 reads)
Insurance

(Prudent Press Agency) --- In an ongoing effort to help firms improve investor disclosure and realize significant savings by moving from paper to electronic delivery, NewRiver, Inc., today announced that the Company will moderate an interactive discussion at the Insured Retirement Institute (IRI)’s 2010 Operations and Technology Conference. Comprised of panelists from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Ameriprise, Prudential and Dechert LLP, the session titled Impact & Opportunities of New Summary Prospectus: Driver for E-Delivery will be held on July 14th from 1:15-2:15.

Summary prospectuses are now available for many of the funds that variable insurance products offer. These smaller documents provide simpler fund disclosure to policyholders and prospects but also require a rethinking of the entire prospectus delivery regimen ranging from legal to marketing to call centers. But what role does electronic delivery play in a world of smaller print invoices? In this session, the panel of experts will share their insights on how the implementation of summary prospectuses is progressing, some common issues including what’s working and what isn’t, and will discuss the evolving role of e-delivery for investor disclosure.
