Child Care & Parental Guidance : First Ever Children's Wear-Moldable Arch Support Insoles
on 2010/8/28 7:00:00 (153 reads)
Child Care & Parental Guidance

(Prudent Press Agency) --- KidZerts has created the first wear-moldable arch support insoles for children. These innovative children’s insoles slowly mold to the unique contours of the bottom of each foot. KidZerts insoles were designed by a team that includes a podiatrist, a pedorthist and specialists in the manufacturing of insoles, who recognized that most children’s insoles lack features that are imperative for kids’ foot health and development.

Since most shoe companies consider a thin, flat layer of foam suitable as an insert for children’s shoes, KidZerts recognized the need for important features to stabilize and comfort their growing feet, including an arch support, a stabilizing heel cup and cushioning.

Child Care & Parental Guidance : The Importance of Aggressive Defense Against Child Pornography Charges
on 2010/8/22 11:00:00 (168 reads)
Child Care & Parental Guidance

(Prudent Press Agency) --- More so than other types of crimes, those involving the alleged exploitation of children have the potential to ruin lives and reputations. These cases are often tried in the court of public opinion far sooner than they are taken before a judge and jury. Although the burden of proof lies with the State or Government, by the time the trial starts, the Defendant often feels he actually bears the burden of proving his own innocence.

A Difficult Task for Prosecutors and Defense Attorneys Alike
Evidence of pornography or obscenity possession or distribution is often found on Internet file-sharing or social networking sites, as well as, desktop PC's or laptops and even on portable file storage devices like flash drives or SD cards. Determining the source of this information is often difficult, particularly when an investigation begins solely based on information found online through network specialists tracing the activity back to a certain computer address or user. By the time that is done, the content could have been erased from the computer. Computer forensics experts are often brought in to recover the data and perform further analysis.

Child Care & Parental Guidance

(Prudent Press Agency) --- In just one year the Magical Rainbow Board Game has entered into two prestigious game award programs and it has picked up two prestigious game awards. The Magical Rainbow Board Game has received the coveted title of “Game of the Year” from the highly respected national parenting magazine, Creative Child.

“The Magical Rainbow is a special kind of board game because it can be used as both a game and a play set” comments Frank Crossen, President Crossen Creations. “The game by itself is a lot of fun and features a colorful 3 dimensional game board, along with magnetic play pieces and a magnetic leprechaun figurine. But if children don’t have anyone to play the game with they can use the magnetic play pieces with the game board as their own imaginary land. Imagination is such a wonderful trait and the Magical Rainbow board game helps bring out the imagination in every child.”

Child Care & Parental Guidance : More NYC Parents Now Embrace Brain Academy’s Effective Preparation for Private School and Gifted Program Admissions Tests
on 2010/8/2 9:00:00 (178 reads)
Child Care & Parental Guidance

(Prudent Press Agency) --- This summer, parents of young children are not only searching for summer camps and fun activities, but also for fun ways to prepare their kids for the increasingly competitive private school and the gifted program 2011 enrollment, according to the Brain Academy. Many parents of preschool children have already learned that the gifted and private school admissions tests, such as OLSAT, BSRA, and ERB (which is an IQ test such as SB5 or WPPSI-III) require the utmost attention to details, rapid and accurate visual scanning, critical thinking, sharp memory retention and retrieval. Preschool children don’t always have evenly developed cognitive abilities, and some of these skills may not be superior, which is required to score high on the admissions tests. How can a very bright child, who is clearly learning and acquiring knowledge at much faster pace than his peers, but may get frazzled or distracted easily, score better than 97 percent to 99 percent of his peers on these admissions tests?

“We have been getting an increasing number of calls from the parents who, first of all, want to accurately assess their children’s attention, memory, organization, processing, thinking and other cognitive skills, and then start preparing them for the OLSAT, BSRA, ERB and other admissions tests,” says Dr. Danov, a neuropsychologist and founder of the Brain Academy, a New York-based hub for cognitive testing, brain training, test preparation, and academic tutoring.

Child Care & Parental Guidance : No Walk in the Park: Stroller Recall
on 2010/7/25 8:00:00 (184 reads)
Child Care & Parental Guidance

(Prudent Press Agency) --- The announcement stopped parents in their tracks: stroller-maker Maclaren announced it was recalling every single umbrella-type stroller it has sold in the United States. The British company announced the recall of an estimated one million strollers because of a danger that young children will have their fingers amputated by the folding mechanism.

The source of the problem is a side hinge into which very young children can stick their fingers. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission told parents to immediately stop using the umbrella strollers. The strollers have caused at least a dozen reported fingertip amputations. The November recall is the second-largest stroller recall of the decade. In 2005, Graco Children's Products recalled 1.5 million strollers. The recall applies to all umbrella-type Maclaren strollers sold in the U.S. since they were introduced here 10 years ago. The recalled models are the Volo, Quest Sport, Quest Mod, Triumph, Techno XT, Techno XLR, Twin Techno, Twin Triumph and Easy Traveller. The strollers are all manufactured in China, said Maclaren.

Child Care & Parental Guidance : Stewart Case Illustrates Dangers of Interstate Child Custody Disputes
on 2010/7/22 10:40:00 (159 reads)
Child Care & Parental Guidance

(Prudent Press Agency) --- Authorities are still investigating the disappearance of Venus Stewart, a 32-year-old mother of two who police believe was abducted from her parents' home in Colon Township, Michigan, on April 26. The South Bend Times identified Ms. Stewart's estranged husband, Doug Stewart of Newport News, Virginia, as the only person of interest in the case.

Prior to Ms. Stewart's abduction, she and Mr. Stewart were in the midst of a divorce and a custody dispute over their two daughters. The week before she disappeared, Schwartz Law Firm represented Ms. Stewart at the St. Joseph County District Court, where she sought and was granted temporary custody of both children. Mr. Stewart accused Ms. Stewart of fabricating claims that he sexually abused one of the minor children. However, Child Protective Services substantiated the claims of abuse. In the weeks since the disappearance, the court has rejected Mr. Stewart's request for custody of the girls and denied him visitation rights. At a hearing on June 17th, he was arraigned on an abuse/neglect petition based on the allegations of sexual abuse that Ms. Stewart made before her disappearance.

Such unstable little human beings need to be constantly occupied with something or the other to keep them away from boredom. And what better tool could come to the rescue of such a scenario other than toys. Toys play a very pivotal role in a child’s life. Childhood without toys is unimaginable. Now if you are in a situation where you need to wait for hours or even for a few minutes to meet someone important like a doctor, pediatrician, dentists, therapists and so on and if you are accompanied by your lovely little angels you need to make sure that they remain angels throughout the span of the time of the waiting period and not turn into impatient and unstable little devils.

Waiting room toys are designed to keep your little ones entertained when you are waiting for a scheduled appointment in the lobby or the waiting room. With an innumerous number of choices in the category of pediatric waiting area playsets, lobby toys, waiting room toys, reception toys, doctor office toys, playcubes, play panels and play centers you have no need to worry about your little one being restless during the waiting period. Child Care & Parental Guidance : Understanding Your Pre School Child
on 2010/7/13 13:40:00 (123 reads)
Child Care & Parental Guidance

(Prudent Press Agency) --- If your child is in the pre school stage this only means one thing- you are done with the terrible 2's and 3's. Now, comes a new world for parenting, the pre school age. This is now a whole new different ball game. This is the time when your precious ones are starting to explore.

Pre school ranges from ages 4- 6 years of age, this is what they call the exploratory or the questioning age. Questioning age because your pre school never stops asking the "why" questions- so parents start reviewing you general knowledge if you don't want to sound foolish in front of your kid. Preschoolers normally centers around on gaining control over the environment and want to know what their environment is, how it works, how it feels and how they can be a part of it. So, if you see your kid is mangling his toys into pieces this is the reason. This is the age where having gangs begins because your baby is learning the foundation of social development.

Be sure to take advantage of this phase because this is the teachable phase. At this age the pre school kid is like an empty vessel waiting to be filled- up with useful information. During play time, pre schoolers understand the concept of sharing, they like to build and create things and play is simple and imaginative, that is why pre school age is also called "The creative stage". Preschoolers play loosely organized group where membership changes readily, as do rules. There are suitable toys for certain age. Right toys for the right age develop the kids' logical skill. Suitable toys for pre schools are dress-up clothes; dolls; doll house; small trucks; animals; puppets. Painting sets, coloring books, paste, and cutout sets illustrated books to further support their creativity. Puzzles with large pieces and more shapes to enhance the intellect of your pre school and tricycle, swing, slide, other playground equipment since they are in the pre- gang age and also going to field trips in the museum and parks is also helpful since they love to explore. One very beneficial thing a parent should do is to provide opportunities for play and social activity to develop child's initiative or purpose.
