Politics & World Affairs : Democrats and Republicans Have Come to an Agreement
on 2010/8/25 6:00:00 (136 reads)
Politics & World Affairs

(Prudent Press Agency) --- Governors Bobby Jindal of Louisiana and David Paterson of New York have both endorsed the "unity and friendship campaign". The campaign is designed to connect all people, ideas, views and religious beliefs together for one purpose: unity.

Negris LeBrum Clothing Co., a Houston-based company, created the Unity & Friendship campaign in January 2010. The company later received the Congressional Proclamation of Recognition from Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, 18th Congressional District in Houston, TX on February 27th, proclaiming this day as national Unity & Friendship Day. A representative of Negris LeBrum, Travis Hamilton, stated: "We give very high marks to the political officials that have endorsed the campaign. We truly believe that these leaders thought more about the people they serve and not their party affiliations. The Proclamations are a must read and consist of some very powerful words that you normally don't hear from a politician."

Politics & World Affairs : The 21st Century Politician: Campaign of The Future
on 2010/8/5 9:00:00 (150 reads)
Politics & World Affairs

(Prudent Press Agency) --- Campaigning in the 21st century has become a much different game than it was before. With the addition of cellular telephony, social media, email, chat and other complicated technologies, political campaigns are beginning to shift into the realm of niche marketing. Targeting a single party or a small group of demographics is no longer a viable option with so many micro-niches in bubbles popping up and disappearing literally overnight in all corners of the US. One of the simpler, more efficient and cost effective ways of campaigning to your supporters is through predictive dialing. Magnalogix offers exactly this, at a fraction of the cost of it’s competitors.

Predictive dialers like Magnalogix take the guesswork out of telephone campaigns in more than one way. First, the manual aspects of dialing are removed, which frees up valuable time for your polling agents to make more calls. Dialing, hang-ups, voice mail and busy signals are almost completely eliminated. Second, there is no manual dialing. A list with customer information including phone number is loaded into the dialer and it does all the work for your agents. The Magnalogix system also incorporates a built in Customer Relationship Management or CRM system, which gives account information about the customer to the agent in real time on their computer, allowing them to gain better rapport with the client. Comprehensive and detailed reports of call metrics are kept in your CRM, allowing you to track, modify and fine-tune every detail of your telemarketing campaign and individual agent’s performance. Data is output in graph form with easy to read and print statistics about every aspect of your dialing operation.

Politics & World Affairs : Gossip Free, Cleaning Up the Leak That is More Devastating Than the BP Spill
on 2010/8/3 11:30:00 (140 reads)
Politics & World Affairs

(Prudent Press Agency) --- From all the media coverage, it is easy to see how the BP oil spill has affected many and the vast devastation it has caused. In truth, the environmental devastation caused by the BP oil spill pales in comparison to another leak that has not yet been stopped. Another flowing problem is Gossip, that despite efforts on the part of Pastor Kevin Hester and the Gossip Free Campaign to stop the gossip leak, gossip continues to wreak havoc across our nation. On 8-8-08 Kevin Hester, Pastor of The Sanctuary Church in Coloma, Michigan challenged the world to go 8 days without speaking or listening to gossip (as a first step to becoming “Gossip Free”). Many people across our nation have taken the Gossip Free challenge and others have become aware of the high cost of low talk. Much like the oil spill, once it has begun to leak the efforts to clean up every little drop of gossip becomes a daunting task at best and completely impossible at it's worst. Once a person's reputation has become polluted with gossip, it's nearly impossible to completely restore it. Everyday people continue to gossip about politicians, celebrities, and our family and neighbors, not realizing that somebody must clean-up the mess. Join Kevin again as he re-issues the Gossip Free challenge and attempts to clean up gossip and make the world a better place to live in.

Politics & World Affairs : Ward 5 City Council Candidate Kenyan McDuffie Wins No.1 Spot on the Democratic Primary Ballot
on 2010/7/31 16:40:00 (177 reads)
Politics & World Affairs

(Prudent Press Agency) --- Kenyan McDuffie’s campaign for the Ward 5 Council seat heightened after receiving word that his name will be No.1 on the ballot in the September 14 Democratic primary. Last Friday, the DC Board of Election and Ethics (BOEE) pulled each candidate’s name out of a hat during its lottery to determine ballot position.

“I was elated when I found out my name was randomly selected first by the Board of Elections,” Kenyan enthusiastically stated. “Being No. 1 on the ballot definitely intensifies my urgent need to fill the void in council leadership in Ward 5 and underscores what Ward 5 voters are already saying: there is no need to look any further than Kenyan McDuffie for a positive alternative to the status quo.”

Politics & World Affairs : Dutch Government Invites North American IT And New Media Companies
on 2010/7/25 15:00:00 (131 reads)
Politics & World Affairs

(Prudent Press Agency) --- The Dutch government is inviting 15 IT and new media companies to visit Holland from 20-25 September to explore this creative hub to Europe. The week will be packed with matchmaking and networking events including PICNIC festival.
The Netherlands: Europe's Creative Hub! The Netherlands is widely recognized as mainland Europe's creative hub, and Amsterdam - the capital city- is one of the TOP 5 most creative cities in the world.

The stunning broadband and mobile infrastructure, and the low cost of communication services make that 85% of the Dutch population is connected to broadband. The 16 million inhabitants are extremely web savvy as proven recently when they managed to make their parliament election trending topic on twitter and constantly challenged Twitter's capacity during the countries World Cup football matches. The international oriented business culture is also reflected in high adaptation rate of business networks, LinkedIn for example has 1 million Dutch members. Not surprisingly LinkedIn opened their first mainland Europe office in the Netherlands last year and Tijmen Kos, Managing Director EMEA, Sun Microsystems states: "We chose the Netherlands because of the multilingualism, the education level of the working population and the excellent telecommunications infrastructure."

Politics & World Affairs : July 23 - 25 U.S. Peace Conference to Plan Actions Against Escalating War in Afghanistan
on 2010/7/20 7:40:00 (146 reads)
Politics & World Affairs

(Prudent Press Agency) --- A diverse coalition of organizations opposed to the U.S. wars and occupations in Afghanistan and Iraq will sponsor a national conference the weekend of July 23-25, 2010 in Albany, New York with the central demand being "Bring the Troops Home Now!" Organizers see the conference as a step to uniting in action the largest number of people possible to call for an end to the wars and occupations. The conference is being organized as the U.S. war in Afghanistan is escalating, with thousands of additional U.S. troops being sent to that country. News reports make clear that the Pentagon plans to launch a major offensive in Kandahar this summer. Civilian casualties are already increasing at an alarming rate. To finance the escalation of the war, Congress is being asked to authorize a supplemental funding request of $33 billion.

Keynoting the conference will be Noam Chomsky, internationally renowned political activist, author, and critic of U.S. foreign and domestic policies, MIT Professor Emeritus of Linguistics; and Donna DeWitt, President of the South Carolina AFL-CIO and Steering Committee member, U.S. Labor Against the War.

Politics & World Affairs : 5,000 Muslims Expected at Annual Convention. Are Muslims Required to Obey Non-Muslim Governments?
on 2010/7/16 8:40:00 (104 reads)
Politics & World Affairs

(Prudent Press Agency) ---The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA, present in the United States since 1920, will host its 62nd annual convention Friday, July 16, through Sunday, July 18, in Virginia. More than 5,000 delegates are expected from across the United States and overseas to celebrate 90 years of practicing and preaching Islam in this country. A dynamic, reformist and fast-growing international movement, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community has championed non-violence and rejected terrorism since its inception 121 years ago. To that end, the community launched in July a “Muslims for Peace” campaign to debunk the myth that Muslims do not practically stand for peace and justice. The “Muslims for Peace” message is currently being carried on 100 New York City buses and being delivered door to door across the US. More information at MuslimsforPeace.org.

Delegates at the annual convention will demonstrate the “Muslims for Peace” message while discussing important issues facing Muslims today. Presentations will cover topics such as religious freedom in America, modern challenges to core beliefs, the community’s response to violent persecution such as the recent Lahore attacks, and more.

Politics & World Affairs : Immigration Reform and What the Politicians Don't Say By Mary Funari
on 2010/7/4 11:00:00 (131 reads)
Politics & World Affairs

(Prudent Press Agency) --- American Citizens were able to hear President Obama speak about Immigration Reform today. During his televised speech, he spoke about how this country was built by immigrants and how their gifts, hard work, sacrifice helped build this country. He also spoke about they were discriminated against. It was a a nice history lesson. He spoke on how porous our borders have been over past decades and how this has not changed. He spoke about immigrant labors work under the table, how they work for less then minimum wage, how they don't report crimes out of fear of deportation. None of this is new information, most American already know this. It happens in New York, New Jersey, Arizona, California, in every state across this land. Immigration Reform is desperately needed for this country. That being said, we must realize that this is a multiple prong problem. To truly accomplish true reform, politicians and the current Presidential Administration has to look at welfare, social security, business practices across the border, health care, and education.

The current Welfare System has created generations of citizens who feel it is beneath them to do any form of manual labor. Why should they get their hands dirty when the government will just send them a check? The current system has created a "poor pitiful me" syndrome that continues to be promoted by the government and by different members of society. If the color of your skin is "wrong", if you got pregnant when you were an adolescent, if you chose to drink and do drugs, if you never took responsibility for your actions, then you deserve a check from the government. There is an old saying, "Pride goeth before a fall." If you are too proud to get your hands dirty, why aren't you too proud to take a check from the government for doing nothing? If the government on both the state and federal levels would encourage welfare recipient to work or go to school, then they could reduce the welfare rolls. If political and religious leaders would encourage welfare recipient to work or go to school instead of encouraging this, "you're owed" mentality, there would be a positive change in this country. Welfare should have a maximum about of time that a person can collect. An individual can be trained in a trade in about 2 years or you can receive an Associated Degree in 2 years. Wouldn't taxpayer money be better spent on training and education then continuation of the same, old broken system. Why not promote Coop Programs, where citizens in the same area help each other out with day care, baby sitting, tutoring, meal preparation and the like. It's how we build better communities, better understanding and a stronger country.
