Humor and Comic Books : Recent Death on Everest Underscores the Dangers of Mountains Featured in Summit Murder Mysteries
|
| on 2010/6/23 17:40:00 (242 reads) |
(Prudent Press Agency) --- On June 2, British climber, Peter Kinloch, was abandoned on Mount Everest. Kinloch complained on sudden blindness 1,000 feet after the team began their descent from the summit. Officials believe this was caused by a brain hemorrhage. This terrifying occurrence proves the dangers depicted in the Summit Murder Mystery Series co-authored by Charles G. Irion and Ronald J. Watkins.
In the most recent release, Murder on Elbrus, Mount Elbrus earns the spotlight. It resides on the border between Russia and Georgia, placing the mountain in the middle of a political war zone. "It is the highest mountain in Europe and one of the deadliest. Elbrus claims about 30 lives per year," said Irion. "Mountains can be dangerous and can kill you in a lot of different ways, from high altitude, bad weather, ill preparation; it can be a recipe for a disaster. Throw in a murder plot and it's even worse." According to Irion, Murder on Elbrus will stay true to the Summit Murder Mystery Series style. Readers can expect fast-paced action throughout the novel. In Murder on Elbrus, the suspicion and excitement mounts when a senior Russian official is murdered near the summit of Elbrus. Scott Devlon, hero of prior Summit Murder Mystery Series books Murder on Everest and Abandoned on Everest, is once again placed in the midst of a murder scene and is forced to fight for his life. "Murder on Elbrus contains chase scenes and gunfire, while the hero, Scott Devlon, flees from the Russian military Special Forces after the Russian oil minister is murdered on Mount Elbrus," said Irion.

Humor and Comic Books : SJS Comic Promotions & Three J Productions Set the Stage for a New Mini-Series
|
| on 2010/5/11 6:20:00 (173 reads) |
(Prudent Press Agency)--- Since 2002, writers, artists and fans have converged on Philadelphia each May to acknowledge Black creators and comics featuring Black characters, particularly superheroes. To celebrate the release of The Enforcers Zero Issue - The Director's Cut, which debuts at The East Coast Black Age of Comics Convention (ECBACC) on May 15, Publisher of Three J Productions, LLC and Creator, Carl Herring Jr. plans to also offer a limited number of copies of The Enforcers Part One featuring Maddox Turner, before its July release date.
Carl Herring Jr. has been reading and collecting comic books for over thirty years, particularly a fan of the comic books from the sixties right up until the mid eighties. Losing interest in comics in the nineties, Carl decided to create his own characters and write story lines that could entertain like the stories from days long gone. Carl also wanted to seek out talented artists who could recreate those master strokes reminiscent to the artists of his yester years. Thus with this in mind, Three J Productions, LLC was born.
Having created the company, now it was time to create the book. Carl sat down one night to pen his first story. Several weeks later Carl finished his first script. The book was The Enforcers. The title of the story was “The Chosen Ones.” With script in hand, Carl set out to find an artist. After several months of going through samples of various artists, Carl came across the portfolio samples of Tod Smith, the perfect artist to give the book the old school look. After reading the script, Tod agreed to do the artwork. The Zero Issue was released in 2005.

Humor and Comic Books : Why One Entrepreneur Threw His iPad Into a Blender
|
| on 2010/4/27 19:40:00 (151 reads) |
(Prudent Press Agency)--- With each new innovation from Apple, millions of global consumers find themselves asking the same question: What would happen if someone put this thing into a super-powerful blender and pressed "On"?
iPods blend nicely. So do iPhones. And as the latest video by Blendtec founder Tom Dickson shows, sticking an iPad into a blender creates a fuming gray gunk smoothie. The iPad experiment, which has already yielded more than 5 million YouTube views, is yet another example of the Utah blender company's innovative approach to getting people's attention. It pays off, too: Blendtec has increased sales to consumers and businesses like Starbucks and Jamba Juice by more than 1,000% in four years.
The pervasive use of experimentation — of acting then reflecting, as opposed to analyzing then acting — distinguishes entrepreneurs like Dickson from most corporate managers, according to scholars. Dickson just happens to experiment more conspicuously than most entrepreneurs, using a lab as the setting for his popular social media content. When it comes to social media, large corporations can learn a lot from Dickson's penchant for experimentation, according to our Babson Executive Education study of 33 corporate social media programs. A select few organizations we interviewed offer a glimpse into how big firms can successfully adopt entrepreneurial practices:

Humor and Comic Books : Comic Books
|
| on 2010/1/14 11:00:00 (172 reads) |
(Prudent Press Agency)---Comic Books Are Important
Comic books are important because they represent a segment of the population that like to fantasize that they can escape the hardship of everyday life. In comic books they can be the hero, the nemesis, or a third party that may or may not become pivotal in the end.
A person may identify with a certain character because the personality the superhero or villain embodies what the person visualizes, or identifies with. Comic books are important because the scenarios that the people face exhibit situations where confrontation isn't necessarily the only answer. The quandaries faced enable a person to see a situation and how it is dealt with. Comic books allow people to create their own versions and see how different scenarios are played out, which can result in new ways of defusing stressful situations. It may permit a person to see situations in life differently and hence; think outside the box when warranted.

Humor and Comic Books : Reminisce and Have Fun With Refrigerator Magnets
|
| on 2008/5/31 11:40:00 (484 reads) |
(Prudent Press agency) -- It can be confidently said that a vast majority of refrigerators here in America has at least two or more refrigerator magnets attached to them. Every single person I know has them, especially if there are kids in the household. Many special memories, achievements, notes, photos and other mementos have graced the refrigerator door and the refrigerator magnets are what keep them in place. All of them are a constant reminder o what binds the family together, special occasions that must always be remembered to symbolize the core of the family. Each piece that is brought upon on the refrigerator door represents a part of our lives. A school work, art work, scribbling by a kid is regarded as an important accomplishment when it is placed on the refrigerator, making the refrigerator a sort of a trophy case.

For about ten minutes today, David Howe, a 38 year old businessman from Maryland commanded the front page on FoxNews.Com with the story of his Coronation. In 2006 some Brit genealogist called to tell him that he might have a claim to the throne of the Isle of Mann (or Man). So, he filled out the right forms and sent them to Her Majesty's Stationary Office which after a 90 day review period approved his Royal application. Apparently they sent him a crown, a royal robe and a spoon. Some Kings get swords, others get scepters, but David gets a spoon.
