A day after signing a season-long contract extension, the 35-year-old Scholes headed in Patrice Evra's cross with 12 seconds left of a drab 142nd Manchester derby.

"We deserved to win the match, no question. But I couldn't see a goal coming," United manager Alex Ferguson said. "I decided to put Scholes a bit further forward and it paid off. He was man-of-the-match today. He was wonderful, he's such a skillful player." Ferguson's side was only a point behind Chelsea before the league leaders were at Tottenham in the late match.

"We just have to hope someone does us a favor," said United captain Gary Neville, whose side have three matches remaining. The loss weakens City's grip on the fourth Champions League place, with fith-place Tottenham only a point behind Roberto Mancini's team.

Jet Dryers have been working hard on the Texas Motor Speedway, to get the tracks dry for the practices but to no avail. The race, if it doesn't get washed out, will see Joey Logano from GameStop, revving his Toyota numbered 20 from the pole.


Logano will be followed in this race by Clint Bowyer, Kyle Busch, Carl Edwards and Rickt Stenhouse Jr. The next five of the first ten drivers into the first lap are Jason Leffler, Jamie McMurray, Steve wallace, Paul Menard and Brian Scott. It is also rumored that several recent incidents like Tiger Woods’ new Nike ad, in which his dead father lectures him from beyond the grave and needless to mention, the report of Woods’ affair with their neighbour’s young daughter have deeply upset Nordegren.


Elin’s decision to divorce Woods was reported as early as December but Tiger’s willingness to join a sex rehab seemed to make Elin reconsider her decision. The couple is however reported to work out some deatails on their divorce,sign the decree and split up. Another source indicates that Elin met with her divorce lawyer before flying out of town.

Ray McCallum Jr, a point guard Birmingham Detroit Country had zeroed his choices to UDM, Arizona, Florida and UCLA in the run up to the signing day. However, on Wednesday afternoon, at the live signing day broadcast, he held up a Titans jersey, indicating his choice for Detroit Mercy. His father, Ray McCallum, is a UDM coach.

With only one match loss in the league of ten matches Spurs were favourite in the game. The first goal came from Rose in the ninth minute of the game whereas the second goal came in the second half by Tottenham’s Bale, which indicated the dominance of Tottenham’s in the match.
